Mahela Jayawardene's side topped the 438 for nine South Africa made against Australia in Johannesburg three months ago.
Dilhara Fernando picked up three wickets for 39 as the hosts were bowled out for 248, with Sri Lanka sealing a 195-run win.
Tillekeratne Dilshan remained unbeaten on 117 and Sanath Jayasuriya struck 157 off 104 balls.
Jayasuriya made 152 at Headingley in Sri Lanka’s fifth succesive win in England last week.
Sri Lanka take on the BLACKCAPS in The National Bank Series later this year after facing South Africa and India on home soil.
