Windies romp home

A majestic 93 to former captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul and two early wickets to paceman Fidel Edwards has helped the West Indies to an 82-run victory over Zimbabwe in the fourth ODI at Bourda.

In a record score made in the Caribbean, the home team recorded 6-333 with Chanderpaul leading the way racking up ten boundaries and three sixes, and he was ably assisted by Brian Lara.

Lara smashed ten fours in a quick-fire 56 off just 45 balls, while Runako Morton was also impressive throughout his 79 from 90 balls.

Edwards then did early damage to the Zimbabwean top order, bowling Piet Rinke neck and crop with his first delivery and having Terry Duffin caught behind from his fourth.

With both batsmen making first ball ducks and the score on 2-1, the visiting side was brought back into the match thanks to Tino Best - his first over which included five wides, a sign of things to come.

Despite half-centuries to Vusi Sibanda and Elton Chigumbura, Zimbabwe could only manage 7-251, losing the match by 82 runs and handing the series to the West Indies who failed to impress throughout.
