The West Indies opened the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 with a 54-run win over Pakistan in Jamaica.
Hometown batsman Marlon Samuels led the scoring for the home team, making 67 as the Windies made 241 for nine from their 50 overs.
All-rounders Dwayne Bravo (16) and Dwayne Smith (32) hit 40 for the seventh wickets off just 21 balls before taking three Pakistan wickets each.
Shoaib Malik led the Pakistan chase with 62, with the innings ending on 187 in the 48th over.
