The White Ferns set out their stall ahead of the 2007/08 Rose Bowl with a four-wicket Twenty20 win over Australia at Lincoln’s Bert Sutcliffe Oval.
An unbeaten 15 by captain Haidee Tiffen guided the home team to victory, chasing down a target of 80 by the first ball of the 18th over.
Tiffen finished off the contest after knocks of 25 by Sara McGlashan and 20 by Lucy Doolan set the White Ferns on course.
Sarah Burke was the pick of the White Ferns bowling with three for 15, the Southern Stars posting 80 for nine from their 20 overs having been invited to bat first.
