West Indies complete clean sweep

Zimbabwe has been beaten 5-0 in its seven-match one-day series with the West Indies, after losing the latest match, at Queen's Park Oval, by 104 runs.

Two matches were abandoned.

The West Indies scored 266-8 with Ramnaresh Sarwan hitting 91 and Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Brian Lara 40.

The Zimbabweans were dismissed for 162 in the 49th over.

Tawanda Mupariwa took 3-44 from his 10 overs while Blessing Mahwire took 2-49.

The West Indies top-order was largely untroubled, although Chris Gayle was an early departure for 11 in the 10th over.

But Sarwan and Chanderpaul raced through to 99 in the 27th over before Chanderpaul was dismissed.

Sarwan was eventually the seventh batsman dismissed in the 48th over when the score was 237.

A late flourish carried the side through to 266-8.

Zimbabwe lost captain Terry Duffin for two when the score was 10 off the last ball of the third over.

His fellow opener Vusi Sabanda hit 42 and departed, third wicket down, at 93.

But the loss of two further wickets in the space of five runs stifled the middle-order and Dwayne Smith took 4-29 from his eight overs to rock the Zimbabwe lower-order which lost its last five wickets for 21 runs.
