Why the re-design? It's like this:

We know our live scoring brings people to the site. People want to follow international, domestic and all levels of cricket online and they want to be right up to date with the latest. That's why we've put the live scoring strip front and centre on the homepage where it's easy to find and easy to find what's happened, what games are live now and what's coming up.
The live scoring strip will always have the live matches in the middle, with results to the right and fixtures to the left. You can scroll along using the arrow keys, or swipe with your finger if you’re on a tablet or phone.

The site is completely mobile friendly, using responsive design to make it look great and easy to navigate no matter if you're on a tablet, a smartphone or a good old fashioned computer. Our stats tell us that most people view the site on a computer during the day, but that mobile visitors dominate in the evenings, when people are on the bus, the couch or keeping up with the game while out and about.

Full credit goes to NV Interactive, a Christchurch company who've looked after our existing site for many years, as well as developing NZC’s live scoring system. A huge debt of thanks goes to Tim McConnell, Jon Whitehead, Jessica Wdowiarz, Sam Langley, Bobby Dennis and Nadia McLaren for the hard work they’ve put in on the redesign.

NV's Sam Langley says: "One of the site's inspirations was traditional cricket scorecards, which are a bit of a typographical marvel in themselves. We wanted a clean look that concentrates on NZC's writing and great-looking photography - the big image on the homepage makes quite an impact."

The site's designed to look great on a web browser:
It works just as well on a tablet:
And on a phone:

If you’re viewing the site on your phone and get lost, you can always use the ‘menu’ icon to bring up the menu – it’s a twist on the usual smartphone menu icon we’re used to, we’ve turned it 90 degrees to make it look like cricket stumps.
We've been working on this for some time and we're really keen to hear what you think - hit us up on Twitter, Facebook or use this form. And if you find something that's not working as it should, let us know and we’ll get it sorted out quick smart.

Next on the agenda - mobile apps. Watch this space :)
