Shane Warne has received stitches in his forehead after being struck while batting for English county side Hampshire.
Warne, batting at number three, was hit by Worcester bowler Matt Mason, who is originally from Western Australia, after misjudging a hook shot, the ball ending up lodged between his face grill and his helmet..jpg)
The leg-spinner was led from the field to get three stitches above his right eye and bravely returned to the crease with his team in trouble at 8-121.
But the fairytale ending was not to be; Warne made 14, with Hampshire all out for 131.
