Vincent out of World Cup

Lou Vincent will take no further part in the Cricket World Cup after breaking his left wrist during practice in Antigua this morning.

Vincent was hit by a Shane Bond delivery while batting.

He was immediately taken to hospital where an X-ray revealed a clean break.

Hamish Marshall has been called into the squad as a replacement.

Marshall is expected to fly out of New Zealand this evening (NZ time), after the State Championship final.

Mark Gillespie came through his fitness test this morning and will step up to full training on Monday, while Ross Taylor returned to pool and gym training.

Meanwhile, the ICC World Cup Technical Committee has approved Chris Martin as Daryl Tuffey's replacement.

The confirmation was conveyed to BLACKCAPS management in an email sent on behalf of the tournament Technical Committee on Saturday.

Martin replaces his fellow fast bowler after medical reports were received indicating that Tuffey suffered a serious injury to his right bicep during the 114-run win against Canada.
