Vettori – no let up

The BLACKCAPS are on the verge of a winning advantage in The National Bank ODI Series and captain Daniel Vettori is insistent his side earn a third successive victory over England.

The hosts go into the third match of the series at Auckland’s Eden Park 2-0 ahead after sizeable victories in Wellington and Hamilton.

And one more win will prove decisive.

Vettori said: "We couldn't ask too much more from the two previous games and we've set ourselves up with a huge chance of winning the series and we really want to do it in this game - we don't want any let up,.

"We want to keep doing the things that have given us a chance to put ourselves in this position and after the Twenty20 games there's no way we can get complacent at all because we expect England to come back at us even harder.”

Iain O’Brien has joined the squad as cover for Michael Mason, who picked up a strain during the 10-wicket defeat at Seddon Park on Tuesday.

England coach Peter Moores did not pull any punches with his side after their downturn in form after impressive Twenty20 showings.

“We had honest words and they can come across as hard, but you've got to be fair,” he said.

"There's a time and a place to say things and I think yesterday was a time for a reality check for everybody about what's required and we've done that.

"We had a decent talk, let's put it that way, and things needed to be said and the key for me is to use two tough days as a watershed to move on.
