Central began day two on 191/6 and were dismissed during the first session for 213, Brad Patton top scoring with 57. In reply Auckland made a shaky start, losing their first six wickets for just 42 runs, five of them falling to Ewen Thompson. English professional Steven Croft restored some respectability to the Auckland scorecard with a snappy 59 off 71 balls, but the Aces were all out just on the tea break for 207 – six runs behind Central.
