State Wellington Firebirds vs State Canterbury Wizards

Starting the day at 155/2 after a rain-shortened first day, Wellington put in a strong batting display throughout day two, continuing to 374/7 when rain stopped play mid-afternoon.  Matthew Bell scored 146 from 252 balls, while James Franklin contributed 69 – the pair putting on 123 for the 4th wicket.
Day 2 – At tea: WELLINGTON FIREBIRDS - 374/7 in 117 overs (LJ Woodcock 35, DJ Bowden 26)

State Central Stags vs State Auckland Aces

Nelson Park, Napier, 17 – 20 November 2008,
Central began day two on 191/6 and were dismissed during the first session for 213, Brad Patton top scoring with 57.  In reply Auckland made a shaky start, losing their first six wickets for just 42 runs, five of them falling to Ewen Thompson. English professional Steven Croft restored some respectability to the Auckland scorecard with a snappy 59 off 71 balls, but the Aces were all out just on the tea break for 207 – six runs behind Central.  Thompson finished with bowling figures of 5/57.

State Otago Volts vs State Northern Knights

University Oval, Dunedin, 17 – 20 November 2008
The Northern Knights began the day on 223/7 and batted through the morning session before they were dismissed after lunch for 275. Kane Williamson’s 82 was the top score.  Play has been disrupted by rain during the afternoon sessions, with Otago reaching 65/1.
