Stags docked two Plunket Shield Points

The Central Stags have been penalised two Plunket Shield competition points for a slow over-rate during the fifth-round match against the Wellington Firebirds, played at Saxton Oval, Nelson from November 24 - 27.
 
Following written submissions from umpires Derek Walker and John Bromley, and NZC Match Referee Richard Hayward, Central were found to be breach of NZC playing condition 12.9.1.
 
Relating to the same Plunket Shield round, Otago Volts batsman Hamish Rutherford was fined $200 for breaching Code of Conduct rule 1.3.2 in the match against the Northern Knights at Alexandra.
 
Rule 1.3.2 involves showing dissent towards an umpire which, in this case, was an obvious delay in leaving the wicket after being given out.
 
Rutherford had previously received a written censure for breaching rule 1.2 of the code during the Volts game against the Firebirds on October 30.
 
Under the terms of the Code of Conduct, Rutherford’s most recent breach was referred to the first-class Commissioner as it was the player’s second alleged offence in the same season.
 
In the same Plunket Shield match, Northern Districts all-rounder Anton Devcich received a written censure for breaching rule 3.1, involving “unacceptable behaviour”.
 
While bowling, Devcich slapped the bails off the wickets after delivering a ball which was struck into the outfield. He immediately apologised to the umpire and replaced the bails.
 
Devcich, who admitted the offence, was censured with a warning that any repeat citing will take into account the latest breach.
