South Africa levels series

Fast bowler Makhaya Ntini has taken 5 for 48 to lead South Africa to a 174-run victory over India and level the best of three Test series at one-all after the second Test at Durban.

Ntini dismissed five of the top six Indian batsmen using his pace and guile as the Indians were dismissed shortly after tea on day five.

With only five overs bowled before lunch due to bad light, Ntini still managed to pick up two Indian wickets, Sachin Tendulkar leg before wicket for a duck, and Wasim Jaffer caught at mid-on by Andre Nel for 28.

Shortly after lunch, Sourav Ganguly was Ntini's next victim caught by Herschelle Gibbs in the gully for 26, before Nel reduced the Indians to 85-6 after he bowled VVS Laxman for 15.

Despite some resistance from Mahendra Dhoni and Anil Kumble, Andrew Hall got rid of Kumble for 11, before Dhoni edged Nel to Mark Boucher for a defiant 47.

With light fading after tea, India's chances to salvage a draw were increasing but two quick wickets gave South Africa the win.

Khan was the first to go when he edged Nel to Hall at third slip before Shanta Sreesanth was given out caught behind for 10 off Hall.

The third Test begins in Cape Town on Tuesday.
