Scots thrashed by Dutch

Ryan ten Doeschate posted his second World Cup half-century as the Netherlands thrashed Scotland at St Kitts’ Warner Park.

The South African born Essex all-rounder made 70 in an unbroken third-wicket stand of 102 as the Dutch completed a seven-wicket win inside 24 overs.

Dutch opening bowler Billy Stelling took three for 12 in eight overs with the new ball as Scotland plummeted to 15 for four.

Craig Wright’s team made a partial recovery to end on 136, batting through to the 35th over.

Wright said: "I am slightly embarrassed, I have to confess.

"We set out to come here and show we are a decent cricket team - which we are - but we have not done it.”
