Quiet day at the office for Kiwis

It was just a day at the office for New Zealand players appearing in English county cricket matches today.

In Glamorgan's match with Essex, Glamorgan batted first and was 312-5 at stumps.

Brendon McCullum, opening the innings, was dismissed for 13 while James Franklin was out for seven.

Nathan Astle fared no better at Canterbury where his Lancashire side was playing Kent.

Astle scored seven in Lancashire's first innings of 218 and as Kent amassed 440, Astle took Dwayne Bravo's wicket when he had scored 76, at a cost of 17 runs.

Lancashire in its second innings was 56-2.

Sussex reached 374-5 by stumps at Southgate in its match against Middlesex.

Scott Styris, bowling at first change, sent down 17 overs and had figures of 0-48.

At New Road in Worcester, Gloucestershire was 245-6 in its 40-over innings against the home team in a day-night one-day match.

Craig Spearman scored 12 and Hamish Marshall eight.
