Pietersen happy with form

England star Kevin Pietersen is not concerned by his recent run of outs and believes a century is "just around the corner".

The brilliant strokeplayer has not made 50 in his past six innings but still boasts a Test average of more than 46.

Pietersen suffered a lean run against Australia during last year's Ashes but rebounded brilliantly with a sterling 158 on the final day of the memorable series to help wrest the urn from the world champion.

Despite his run of poor form, Pietersen told reporters he is not feeling any pressure.

"I've missed out in two Test matches now," he said.

"It would be nice to get a hundred and I know I'm training and doing everything I'm supposed to do to prepare as best I can."

"If it happens it happens, but if it doesn't I'm sure it's around the corner somewhere."

Pietersen began the English summer in blistering fashion, smashing back-to-back centuries against Sri Lanka at Lord's and Edbaston.

"I did get consecutive hundreds a couple of months ago so I'm not going to put loads of pressure on myself saying I have to get this or that," he said.

"I've been speaking to Matthew Hoggard about Headingley and he says it has been a very good wicket all season. Hopefully it's a good batting track, but with some bounce in it as well like Old Trafford."
