Pakistan turn the tables

Pakistan overturned the form table with a series victory over World Cup finalists Sri Lanka.

The 1992 world champions, eliminated in first round play in the Caribbean claimed a 98-run victory with 40 overs to spare at Abu Dhabi.

Chasing 314, the World Cup finalists were dismissed for 215 in just 39.5 overs as the Pakistan bowlers built on the solid platform set by the team`s batsmen.

Shahid Afridi was the pick of the bunch with three for 37, while Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Samiand Umar Gul chipped in with two wickets apiece as only Upul Tharanga and Mahela Jayawardene offered any resistance for Sri Lanka.

Opener Salman Butt had earlier top scored with 74 in Shoaib Malik's team's total of 313 for nine.

The win gave Pakistan a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
