Pakistan takes control

Pakistan has taken control of the third Test against England after a 363-run stand between Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan on the third day.

Starting the day on 202-2, Pakistan surged ahead to be all out for 538 in its first innings, responding well to England's original total of 515.

Yousuf (192) starred with the bat for the tourists before he gloved Steve Harmison behind late in the innings and Younis (173) was also in deadly form at the crease.

Despite battling away to a lofty total, Pakistan stuttered towards the end of the day and lost three wickets in 10 balls.

However, Danish Kaneria and Shahid Nazir added 42 for the last wicket before Monty Panesar (3-127) snared Kaneria's wicket to end England's misery in the field.

With just a two overs left before stumps, England played defensively to finish the day on 0-3.

With two days to go, both sides can still force a win, but it will need something special to secure victory on a largely benign surface.
