Pakistan loses seamer

Pakistan seamer Rana Naved-ul-Hasan is expected to miss the upcoming Test series against England after succumbing to a groin injury.

Naved suffered the injury while playing for Sussex against Middlesex in a county cricket match in England.

According to the BBC, preliminary tests have indicated that the seamer may have "Gilmore's Groin".

The injury, which is believed to be similar to that of injured Englishman Ashley Giles, may see Naved sidelined for at least six weeks and in need of surgery.

"He [Naved] has had problems in that area before," coach Bob Woolmer told the BBC.

The tour starts on July 1 with a tour game against Leicestershire and the first Test begins at Lord's on July 13.

Naved has been unable to train with the Pakistan team but has been trying to help the injury by swimming.
