Northern Spirit coach appointed

Northern District Cricket today announced the appointment of Owen Steverson as the new coach of the women's domestic team, the Northern Spirit.

Steverson, who currently teaches at St Peter’s College in Cambridge, is a New Zealand Cricket Level 3 coach, with an extensive coaching background. He has coached a number of Northern Districts age group representative teams, has also had coaching stints at English Clubs and, most recently, has been the Waikato Valley Senior Men’s representative coach.

“I’m very excited about taking on the role as the Spirit Coach and look forward to working with the talented player base which has been developed”, Steverson said.

Steverson replaces Cliff Dickeson, who retired from the position at the end of last season after eleven seasons in the role.
