New Zealand Cricket Chief Executive Justin Vaughan said: “On behalf of New Zealand Cricket and the wider family of cricket I would like to extend our sincere condolences to the families of the Pike River miners. We are thinking of you during this difficult time.”
Vaughan, who is travelling currently visiting the BLACKCAPS in India, said the national team are deeply moved by the tragic accident that took the lives of 29 miners.
“Even though the BLACKCAPS are playing in India their thoughts are on the West Coast. The team are immensely saddened by the news and their hearts go out to those affected,” Vaughan added.
The BLACKCAPS will acknowledge the tragic accident at their first One-Day match against India in Guwahati on 28 November.
