The New Zealand A Team depart on Monday for a training camp in Darwin ahead of the Emerging Players Tournament in July.
The tournament, held in Maroochydore and Brisbane, will include seven One-Day games and two Twenty20 games played against teams from Australia, South Africa and India.
“The Emerging Players’ Tournament will provide an opportunity for some players to prepare for the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in September,” said New Zealand Cricket High Performance Manager Ric Charlesworth.
“But more importantly, it offers us the opportunity to view a new group of players on the periphery of the national team.
“Several members of the NZ Under 19 squad will join the team during this time to assist their preparation for the Under 19 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur in February next year.
“Those players will be involved in the three week training camp in Darwin.”
State Canterbury Wizards Coach Dave Nosworthy will coach the team, assisted by Mike Hesson (State Otago Volts coach) and Vaughn Johnson (New Zealand Cricket Specialist Pace Bowling Coach).
The squad is: James Marshall (captain), Andre Adams, Hamish Bennett, Neil Broom, Grant Elliott, Gareth Hopkins (wicketkeeper), Jamie How, Nathan McCullum, James McMillan, Warren McSkimming, Rob Nicol, Iain O’Brien, Michael Papps, Aaron Redmond, Bradley Scott.
Under 19 players: Corey Anderson, Trent Boult, Greg Morgan, Tim Southee, Kane Williamson.
