McCullum proved he’s a world class Twenty20 player when he blasted an unbeaten 116 off 56 balls against Australia at AMI Stadium last February. It is that performance which has secured him a place in this year’s prestigious sports awards.

He was shortlisted, along with seven other nominees, by a panel of Halberg Trust, Sparc and media representatives. However it will be the public who will get to decide the winner of the category.

Cricket fans will have the opportunity to vote for McCullum’s performance from New Year’s Day through http://www.skysport.co.nz/. Voting closes February 10.

Other nominees include Para-Olympian Adam Hall, the All Whites, the Silver Ferns, All Black Israel Dagg and the Kiwis.
