The 2014 Georgie Pie Super Smash Finalists have been found. Mondiale Auckland Aces, SKYCITY Northern Knights and Mighty Ape Wellington Firebirds are the three teams that will fight it out from this Friday night in Hamilton for the country’s national Twenty20 cricket title.

Defending champions the Knights completed the regular season as top qualifiers and will play the second-placed Firebirds on Friday night 7.10pm under lights at Seddon Park.

The winner of this match progresses direct to Sunday afternoon’s Final, while the loser gains a second life by proceeding to the sudden-death game against the third-placed Aces at 7.10pm on Saturday.

The 2014 Georgie Pie Super Smash champion earns the right to represent New Zealand at the 2015 Champions League. Live coverage of all games is carried by SKY Sport and Radio Sport. All three games will be played at Seddon Park, Hamilton, with the Grand Final beginning at 4pm on Sunday.

As well as a feast of cricket to watch, there’ll be plenty of family-friendly entertainment to soak up and a chance to win $5,000 if you catch a six one handed. Terms and conditions below.

New Zealand Cricket $10,000 Catch for Cash Promotion

Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions of Entry:

  1. The promotion is offered by New Zealand Cricket (the Promoter) of 8 Nugent St, Grafton, Auckland 1023 New Zealand.
  2. Competition is run on Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December 2014 at Seddon Park, Hamilton, for the Georgie Pie® Super Smash finals with a TOTAL prize pool of $10,000.
  3. The competition starts when the first Georgie Pie Super Smash finals game begins on Friday 5 December.
  4. If a six is successfully caught one handed during the first finals game on Friday 5 December, $5,000 will be awarded to the first successful catcher and the promotion will not run for the remainder of that game or on Saturday 6 December.
  5. If a six is not successfully caught one handed during the first finals game on Friday 5 December, the promotion will be carried over to the second finals game on Saturday 6 December. In this case, if a six is successfully caught one handed during the second finals game on Saturday 6 December, $5,000 will be awarded to the first catcher and the promotion will not run for the remainder of that game.
  6. If a six is not successfully caught one handed during the finals game on Friday 5 December OR Saturday 6 December, the promotion will be carried over to the grand final game on Sunday 7 December, and in this case, if a six is successfully caught one handed during the grand final game $10,000 will be awarded to the first catcher and the promotion will not run for the remainder of that game.
  7. If a six is successfully caught one handed during the finals game on Friday 5 December or Saturday 6 December, $5,000 will be awarded to the first successful catcher on Sunday 7 December and the promotion will not run for the remainder of that game.
  8. To be successfully caught, the catch must be a clean catch of a ball struck for 6 by a player during match play which does not make contact with anything after leaving the bat until caught one handed by the catcher after being struck over the boundary, and must not involve any juggling by the catcher.
  9. Employees or any other person present at Seddon Park, Hamilton who is working on behalf of the Georgie Pie Super Smash is not eligible to win money as part of the promotion.
  10. Any one handed catch initially deemed successful in the promotion will be reviewed by Sky TV replays and the Promoter, and once confirmed as a clean catch by the Promoter the person will be announced a winner.  Consequently, any catch not clearly captured by television shall not be eligible for a prize.
  11. The duration, dates and venues of the matches at which this promotion is undertaken may be subject to change from time to time. Participants will be solely responsible for ensuring that they are aware of all such changes and the Promoter will not be liable to any person as a result of any such changes.
  12. Winning prize money will be awarded in the form of a cheque and is not transferable for any other prize.
  13. Winner/s must be willing to have their full name shared publically as part of any marketing and PR promotion by the Promoter and its partners following a successful catch, and winners shall not receive any additional compensation in respect of this. This includes but is not limited to social media, event and team websites and media releases.
  14. The Promoter will not be liable for any direct or indirect damage whatsoever incurred by any participant, other than any liability that cannot be excluded by law.  Prize winners shall indemnify the Promoter against any liability for accident, personal injury (including death), property damage or other loss, cost or expense arising in connection with this promotion.
  15. These terms and conditions will be posted on www.blackcaps.co.nz/domesticfor the duration of the competition. The Promoter may, at its own discretion, choose not to award any prize in the event the participant has breached these terms and conditions. 
  16. The Promoter reserves the right to change these terms and conditions, without prior notice and at its discretion or to extend, postpone or discontinue the promotion at any time.
  17. In all matters the decision of the Promoter will be final and cannot be contested. No correspondence or discussions will be entered into.
