Australian Siddons is a former Head Coach of Bangladesh and was an Assistant Coach of the Australian cricket team under Head Coach John Buchanan.

Siddons coached Bangladesh from October 2007 until the recent 2011 ICC World Cup.

Siddons has an extensive playing background for South Australia where he played over 160 First Class and 70 One Day matches for Victoria and South Australia, and one One Day International for Australia, over a 16-year playing career. A right-hand batsman, he scored over 11,500 First Class runs and captained South Australia to the domestic First Class title in 1995/96. A fine fieldsman, he also holds the record for the most catches in Australian domestic First Class history with 189.

Cricket Wellington Chief Executive Gavin Larsen is thrilled to have secured the services of Siddons:

“Jamie is a world-class coach and his international experience will be an invaluable addition to our professional and high performance cricket environment in Wellington.

“Jamie is passionate about the game and he will bring a fresh perspective to the Wellington Firebirds, and we look forward to him leading us forward into a new era of success.”

Siddons is delighted to have secured the Firebirds Head Coach role:

“The Firebirds have a talented playing roster with a number of exciting young players and I look forward to contributing to their ongoing development and success.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for me and I’m really looking forward to settling in to Wellington and getting my teeth in to the role.”
