Ingram, Priest win CD awards

Central Stags – Peter Ingram

After four excellent first class seasons of performances in all forms of the game Peter was recognised nationally with selection in the BLACKCAPS. This was as a result of sheer volume of runs for the Stags again this season.

Peter topped the “Stags” Plunket Shield aggregates with 855 runs, at an average of 77.72, even after playing in only seven of the ten games. This included an unbeaten 245 in the win v Wellington when he and Jamie How set a New Zealand opening partnership record of 428.

Peter was instrumental in the success of the Stags in the HRV Cup. He ensured that the team had a solid and quick start to their batting innings’ with four fifties and 316 runs at an average of 39.5 at a strike rate of 124.4.

Injury curtailed his involvement in the One Day Competition but he still scored 154 runs at an average of 30.8 in five games.

Peter is a leader amongst the “Stags” and is a vital contributor both on and off the field. To be awarded the Central Districts Life Members Trophy for the 2009/10 season is great recognition for his total commitment.
