India has been confirmed as the host of the 2011 cricket World Cup final while Bangladesh will host the opening ceremony, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the other two host nations, will stage the semi-finals.
Director of the PCB Abbas Zaidi said that details of the tournament's scheduling had been confirmed after a meeting in London earlier in the week.
The four South Asian countries secured the rights to the 2011 tournament in May this year after beating a joint bid from Australia and New Zealand.
India is set to host 22 matches with Pakistan staging 16, Sri Lanka nine and Bangladesh six.
"It was a unanimous decision and since Pakistan hosted the 1996 World Cup final it was India's turn on a rotational basis," Mr Zaidi told AFP.
The 2007 World Cup will be held in the West Indies.
