Hussey given reins

Michael Hussey has been named skipper for Australia's clash against the West Indies on Monday in the DLF Cup tri-series in Malaysia.

With regular captain Ricky Ponting taking a break, Hussey has been handed the reins as the Aussies continue their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy next month.

Australia has made three other changes to its team, with fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, and batsmen Mark Cosgrove and Phil Jaques, sent home as the squad is trimmed from 18 to 15.

Matthew Hayden will come into the side for his first one-day international in more than a year, while Brett Lee and Andrew Symonds are also expected to make their debuts in the tournament.

"Obviously I'm not looking to change too much," Hussey told AFP.

"The team has been playing pretty well so far. Ricky has a very good plan, a good culture. I'm lucky I've got some very good senior players around me to help me out as well."

"We've got great depth and I'm really looking forward to the challenge against the West Indies."

"We've got some big games coming up and we're really determined to make the final (on September 24)."

Rain has been forecast for Monday with Australia looking to punish the Windies for the second time this tournament following a 78-run thrashing last week.

Australia: Michael Hussey (captain), Nathan Bracken, Stuart Clark, Michael Clarke, Dan Cullen, Brad Haddin, Matthew Hayden, Brad Hogg, Simon Katich, Brett Lee, Glenn McGrath, Damien Martyn, Andrew Symonds, Shane Watson.

West Indies: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chris Gayle, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Wavell Hinds, Runako Morton, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Dwayne Smith, Carlton Baugh, Ian Bradshaw, Jerome Taylor, Fidel Edwards, Corey Collymore.
