BLACKCAPS and State Central Stags opener made a valuable donation to a recent event in Palmerston North.
How donated his ODI shirt from his debut, the New Year’s Eve win over Sri Lanka, to a pass-the-parcel game at a Cure Kids Party at Palmerston North’s Novotel Hotel earlier this month.
How (pictured left with prize winner Lewis Kriletich) said: “It was obviously very special to me, my first ODI shirt, but with what the kids go through, that pales in comparison – that’s a much bigger thing.
“It was a good fun. The organisers, Novotel and Cure Kids put on a great night and the kids seemed to have good fun.
“But it was no big deal. The shirt meant a lot to me but hopefully it’s just as special to the kids.”
The day was organised by Manawatu Cricket through their relationship with the Novotel Hotel, who sponsor Cure Kids and hosted the event.
