Canterbury stalwart and former New Zealand representative Peter Fulton retired from cricket on Tuesday after an illustrious 17-year career.
Spanning 2004 to 2014, Fulton also represented New Zealand in 23 Test matches, 49 ODIs and 12 Twenty20 Internationals.
The resolute right-handed batsman made his single ODI century against Sri Lanka in 2006, but it will be Fulton’s Test performance against England in 2013 that many will remember him for.
Having been recalled to the side at the start of the series, Fulton made history in the third Test at Eden Park, becoming only the fourth New Zealander to make tons in both innings of a Test. His knocks of 136 in the first innings and 110 in the second brought the BLACKCAPS to within one wicket of victory.
Fulton also stacked up a number of Canterbury records during his career, particularly in the four-day game.

Fulton made it clear just how much those Canterbury records meant to him.
“From making my debut, I never would have thought I would play this many times and achieve these records for Canterbury. At that stage, I was just stoked to play one.
"When I was growing up I had dreams of playing for Canterbury and New Zealand, but when I was younger I didn't think I was going to do it. I am very proud to have played that many games and experienced so much success with different Canterbury teams throughout my career."
