Who will lift this trophy on Sunday?

Ford Trophy finalists found

The Otago Volts have made a massive leap from the bottom of the table in the 10th and final round of The Ford Trophy regular season - all the way into the top three for Friday's playoff.

The Volts had needed a bonus point win against one of the high fliers, Northern Districts, to snare the last spot for this Friday's 2v3 Elimination Final, which will be contested at Sir John Davies Oval Queenstown.

They did just that in Dunedin, after a superb, unbeaten captain's ton from Hamish Rutherford on Tuesday.

The result bumped ND out of the top three for the one-day playoffs.

The Volts will now face Canterbury in the Elimination Final on Friday, with the match at their Queenstown home venue beginning live at 11am.

Livescoring and a free livestream at www.nzc.nz, on NZC YouTube and the NZC app is available for this playoff.

The winner of that match will then remain in Queenstown to proceed to the Grand Final, against top qualifier the Central Stags who secured direct entry with a round to spare.

The Stags were last summer's top qualifier as well, but lost the 2022 Grand Final to the Auckland Aces.

The Ford Trophy Grand Final is streamed live and on demand on Spark Sport from 11am on Sunday.
