Delay in Dilshan’s Arrival

The arrival of Northern Knights overseas superstar, Sri Lankan Thilkaratne Dilshan, has been delayed until midway through the HRV Cup domestic Twenty20 competition.

Northern Districts Cricket CEO, David Cooper, said “Dilshan has international playing commitments in the first part of January with Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh involved in a tri-series. Once his commitment in that is finished he will join the Northern Knights”.

“This may see him join us for round six, and the second half of the competition, meaning he will play against the Wellington Firebirds in Mount Maunganui on the 15th January. He will definitely be playing round seven against the Canterbury Wizards in Hamilton two days later”.

Confirmation of which match will be his first will be made in the next few days.

The Northern Knights have chosen not to have an interim overseas player.
