Cricket's dominated the 2016 Wellington Sports Awards shortlists, receiving a total of seven finalists - the most of any sport.

Rising star Rachin Ravindra is a finalist in the Emerging Sportsman category after his big season of runs, which saw him make the New Zealand Under 19 World Cup team. Amelia Kerr has also made the final for Emerging Sportswomen.
Season umpire Kathy Cross is yet again vying for the Official of the Year gong, while Subs Narasy from the Hutt District has been nominated in the Volunteer of the Year.
