Bob Carter signs on with Canterbury for a further two seasons

Canterbury Cricket is pleased to announce that Wizards Head Coach Bob Carter has signed on with the province for a further two seasons.

After a highly successful season on the field with the Wizards lifting the prestigious Plunket Shield. Finishing the HRV Cup in third place and earning a home final for the Men’s One Day Competition Carter has shown what the side is capable of under his tutelage.

Canterbury Cricket CEO Lee Germon is looking forward to working with Carter for a further two seasons. ‘We have seen significant progress from the Wizards over the last season in our performances on the park and the development of outstanding talent.  The consistent performance of the team culminating in the lifting of the Plunket Shield meant a very successful season for Canterbury Cricket.  We are also very pleased with the opportunities some of our younger, talented cricketers received during the season.  These are all testament to the experience, skills and commitment that Bob brings to the role of Wizards Head Coach.”

Carter took the reins from South African Dave Nosworthy prior to the 2008/2009 season after spending a number of seasons as BLACKCAPS assistant coach under John Bracewell.
