BLACKCAPS sixth after SA series

The BLACKCAPS’ third Test defeat in South Africa saw them overtaken by the Proteas in the ICC Test rankings.

The hosts’ 2-0 triumph moved them into fifth place, on 101 points, four ahead of the BLACKCAPS.

However, some strong individual performances in the thee-match series saw New Zealanders move up the batting and bowling charts.

Stephen Fleming’s 351 runs in the series consolidate 14th place in the batting list, with Jacob Oram keeping hold of 28th position and Nathan Astle improving to 32nd.

Shane Bond, absent from the series, tops the Kiwi representation on the bowlers’ rankings in 10th position.

James Franklin (pictured right, with Fleming) and Chris Martin have both taken their chance to rise in the bowling list. Franklin is now 16th , his best-ever haul of rating points, and Martin is now 21st.
