Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and elected to bat as he sought to save The National Bank Series in the second Test against the BLACKCAPS at Wellington’s Basin Reserve. 
Jayawardene kept the same side from the first Test in Christchurch, when the BLACKCAPS won by five wickets.
Home captain Stephen Fleming also named an unchanged XI, acknowledging the pitch was encouraging for batsmen, but would also help his in-form bowling attack.
