BLACKCAPS bat first

The BLACKCAPS have been inserted to bat in their final Group C game against Canada at St Lucia’s Beausejour Stadium.

Canada captain John Davison won the toss and elected to bowl as he sought to derail the Kiwi bid for three wins from three first round games.

The BLACKCAPS made several changes, with Peter Fulton stepping in for the injured Ross Taylor.

Jeetan Patel and Daryl Tuffey replaced Shane Bond and James Franklin in the starting XI.

State Central Stags opener Geoff Barnett and former Otago, Wellington and Auckland batsman Ian Billcliff are included in Canada’s team, with left-arm spinner Kevin Sandher called up.
