BLACKCAPS attack well placed in rankings

Four BLACKCAPS bowlers boast top 20 positions in the ICC One-Day International rankings ahead of the arrival of the West Indies for this month’s National Bank Series.

Daniel Vettori leads the way in seventh, but Shane Bond has maintained his position in the top 10, trailing the spinner by one place and 17 points.

Kyle Mills (14th place, 645 points) and Jacob Oram (16th, 634) are also well placed going into The National Bank Series.

Stephen Fleming leads the way in the batting, standing at 28th, with Nathan Astle in 35th after his match-winning 90 not out against Sri Lanka in Christchurch.

Chris Cairns finished his ODI career with 574 points in 39th place, bracketed by Scott Styris (38th, 578) and Hamish Marshall (40th, 570)

Australia fast bowler Brett Lee has climbed to first position in the LG ICC ODI bowling rankings with the highest rating of his career.

Adam Gilchrist has replaced Ricky Ponting at the top of the batting table ahead of the VB Series final against the Sri Lankans.

The BLACKCAPS are placed fourth in the ICC ODI Championship ahead of the April 1 deadline for ICC Champions Trophy qualification.
