It's a key season for our Under-19s

Big season for top men's Under-19 prospects

The men's National Under-19 Tournament begins today in Lincoln as the heat goes on New Zealand's top young players from around the country to impress ahead of this season's ICC Under-19s World Cup.

The tournament is one of New Zealand's longest standing competitions and is hotly contested by the six Major Associations each season.

All matches are live-scored at www.blackcaps.co.nz and on the BLACKCAPS mobile app

The tournament also has the special purpose of identifying and developing those high performing players who will go on to represent New Zealand at the two-yearly ICC Under 19 World Cup. The opportunity for these players to play at NZC's High Performance Centre in a very competitive tournament is an important part of their preparation for higher honours.

The 2015/16 men's National Under 19 Tournament at NZC's High Performance Centre at Lincoln University runs until 23 December 2015, consisting of five round-robin One-Day matches and two Playoff One-Dayers.

The team that wins the Final Playoff match on the last day will be declared the winner. Auckland is the defending titleholder.
