Second place Devon Hotel Central Stags will need to put Ford Trophy celebrations behind them and focus on life post-Jamie How, starting against the bottom placed SBS Bank Otago Volts in Queenstown.
At the Basin Reserve, the Wellington Firebirds take on Canterbury with both teams needing all the points to kick start their season. The hosts go in without the experienced Mark Gillespie and Jeetan Patel due to injury, while Canterbury will be lead by the competition’s leading run scorer Peter Fulton.
With three rounds played and seven to go, the Plunket Shield continues uninterrupted until its conclusion in early April.
