McGlashan stars in low scoring Women's One-Day match

The Central Hinds made it two from three against women's powerhouse, Canterbury Magicians, at Redwood Park today.

The first two games of the weekend were shared before today's 50 over match which saw Canterbury win the toss and insert Central.

The Hinds innings was masterminded by Sara McGlashan who ended as last batsman out with 69 runs off 90 balls. She batted through a long and unproductive tail to see the Hinds through to 165 in the 40th over.

The early stanza belonged to Magicians bowler Frances Mackay who grabbed a five-wicket bag for just 25 runs. She then switched gear and opened up for Canterbury and although she added 27 runs there was no support as the Magicians crumbled to a disappointing total of 96. Mackay has rocketed to third spot on the MVP table despite the Magicians only winning one match.

Abby Burrows was the most successful bowler for the Hinds with 3-23, but the day's most dramatic figures went to Courtney Sim, with two wickets for no runs off just five balls.
