Hutt International Boys’ School looked to follow up their Super Over win yesterday against Westlake Boys’ High School today on Lincoln Green.

Hutt International batted first and many of their batsman got good starts, but could not push on to make big scores.

Bradley Johns was the exception, scoring a very important 41 runs to help get his side to a defendable total of 172.

Benjamin Beecroft bowled well again with 3-25 and Keegan Russell also picked up three wickets, for 33 runs.

Westlake Boys’ High School had a strong start to their chase, all top five batsmen contributing, but a quick succession of dismissals saw the game end very tight.

Westlake Boys’ needed three runs off the last over and captain William O’Donnell hit the winning runs to top-score with 46 not out. Angus McKenzie supported well with 30 runs and Hutt International captain Troy Johnson had brought his team back into the match with a great bowling performance of 4-37, Westlake Boys’ finishing the match with a two-wicket win.
