Captain Devine had no hesitation in batting
Wellington Blaze captain Sophie Devine's sixth domestic one-day century was one heck of a watch at Karori Park, and the third highest individual score in New Zealand domestic history.
The WHITE FERNS' big-launching allrounder has been in the form of her life in 2015, and proved no match for Northern Spirit, even with Australian international Holly Ferling in their mix.
The visitors would struggle to 165/8 in reply after Devine set up an imposing 339/9 for the Blaze, all translating into a whopping 174-run victory in a weekend of back-to-back success for the hosts.

Devine plundered the Spirit for 162 off 105 balls, including 10 fours and 10 sixes, forcing even her fellow Blaze powerhouse Rachel Priest into a backseat role, Priest's 53 off just 35 balls reduced to a support act on the day.

It was Devine's career-best domestic One-Day score, and a Wellington Blaze all-time record. Devine also starred with the ball, taking 3-4 off her five overs.

Young legspinner Mellie Kerr, still just 15, took 3-36 as the Spirit found themselves crushed in Karori.
