Hamilton Boys’ High School and Palmerston North Boys’ High School had their second-round game of the Secondary School Boys’ First XI Cup on Lincoln No. 3 ground, where Palmerston North won the toss and elected to bat.
A strong start by the opening pair saw a good foundation laid for Palmerston North, captain Tom O’Connor making his way to 55 runs before being dismissed.
Isaac Harris was one of a few to make important runs down the order, hitting 26 and helping his side reach a competitive total of 189 all out.
Ravindu Pathirana had a great spell for Hamilton Boys’, picking up figures of 2-13.
Hamilton Boys’ opening batsman Cullen Aislabie enjoyed a terrific innings, scoring 75 and helping his side to a relatively comfortable win.
Stephen Sistern-Tate also batted well for 37.
