Day one of warm-up washed out

DAY ONE - washed out

Pakistan's first chance at playing in New Zealand conditions ahead of the start of the ANZ Test series was killed off on day one, with persistent rain resulting in not a ball being bowled.

While frustrating for the visitors, it also meant an exciting group of BLACKCAPS and emerging New Zealand players were withheld the opportunity to test themselves against a high-class international opposition.

Recently named BLACKCAPS opener Jeet Raval was set to get an early opportunity against the world class Pakistan blowing attack, after New Zealand A won the toss and elected to bat first.

Unfortunately that was as far as things got, with the umpires calling proceedings off for the day after tea.

Fingers crossed for some action on day two.
