The BLACKCAPS have rounded off their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy with a clinical run chase to help defeat Sri Lanka in their final warm-up match in Birmingham.
A pitch prepared on the far side of the Edgbaston wicket block ensured a high scoring game where Kane Williamson's men were set a challenging 357 run target, following a superb hundred by Sri Lankan opener Upul Tharanga.
Martin Guptill matched his opposite number with a powerful century off just 73 balls and he combined with his captain (88*) for a rollicking 151 run stand in 16 overs.
Both batsmen were retired, allowing Corey Anderson (50*) and Neil Broom to finish the job at the start of the 46th over with only two wickets having been lost..
The BLACKCAPS now set their sights on their opening game of the tournament against Australia at the same ground on Friday (10:00pm NZT).
