A luminary among Otago cricket, the Southland-born and bred Jacob Duffy blazed his way through the age group system and represented New Zealand U19 at two World Cups. He made his First-Class debut for Otago at the ripe age of 17 and has since played over 230 matches for Otago.
Duffy is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who had an all-but-perfect international debut in December 2020 in a T20I at Eden Park, he wiped out Pakistan’s top order to take 4-33 and was awarded Player of The Match.
Duffy continues to dominate the Plunket Shield, regularly featuring as one of the first-class competition's top wicket-takers, and having taken over 10 five-wicket bags since his 2012 debut and best figures of 7-89.
