Wellington Blaze 171/3 ( Doolan 57, Devine 40, Wakefield 27) beat Northern Spirit 138/6 (Wilkins 54, Pulford 30, Fraser 23, Cooper 3-40)

Batting first the Wellington Blaze paced their innings nicely to end up on 173 with only three wickets down.  Lucy Doolan set a solid platform at the start of the innings for Sophie Devine and Megan Wakefied to exploit in the latter overs.  The Northern Spirit made a solid start to their chase, but three wickets in one over by Amanda Cooper turned the game Wellington’s way.  A defiant knock of 54 by Anna Wilkins was the highlight of Northern’s innings.

Central Hinds vs Canterbury Magicians

Central Hinds 125/6 (Candy 50, Mason 21, Satterthwaite 2-14, Burke 2-17) beat Canterbury Magicians 115/7 (Tiffen 50, Burrows 3-26)

Rachel Candy’s quick fire 50 that included six fours and a six was the standout Central Hinds innings.  Sarah Burke and Amy Satterthwaite bowled tightly for the Canterbury Magicians and restricted Central to 125.  However the Canterbury batsmen weren’t able to create any momentum and could only manage 115 in reply.  Abby Burrows was the pick of the Central bowlers taking 3-26.
