The WHITE FERNS are ramping up their preparations for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 with an important training camp starting Thursday April 6th at Lincoln in Christchurch.
Coach Haidee Tiffen will put her 19-strong training squad through their paces over the next four days, before selecting the final 15 players who will chase history in England from late June and through July.
“This is a crucial stage of our World Cup journey,” Tiffen said.

“Although we’ve been planning for this tournament for a long time now, actually getting into camp to finalise our squad is a really important step.
“We’ve got plenty of quality players in the group who all bring their own unique set of skills, so there’s going to be some tough calls to make.”

The camp sees the return from injury of powerful Wellington all-rounder Sophie Devine (dislocated thumb), Otago spinner Leigh Kasperek (fractured little finger) and Auckland all-rounder Maddy Green (broken thumb), with all three players set to be on limited duties.
