White Ferns win warm-up

Sarah Tsukigawa struck a half-century on her first White Ferns appearance as the build-up to the five-match One-Day International series against India began with a seven-wicket victory over New Zealand A at Lincoln.

The State Otago Sparks captain hit 51 from 66 balls to help her side to victory with more than 16 overs to spare.

NZ A captain Rowan Milburn won the toss against her State Canterbury Magicians team-mate Haidee Tiffen and chose to bat.

White Ferns opening spells by Helen Watson and Louise Milliken (3/38) were excellent.

Nicola Browne and Aimee Mason also took two wickets each as NZ A were all out for 152 in 48.4 overs, Left-hander Amy Satterthwaite top scoring with 44 off 68 balls, while Beth McNeill (35) and Tamara Gould (26) also contributed.

Watson came back into the action to forge the decisive partnership with Tsukigawa, making 30 not out.
