The Regional Indoor Cricket Tournament was held this weekend at Hutt Indoor Sports in Wellington, with the six different Major Associations competing in four grades.
The Women’s Premier grade was taken out by an exceptionally strong Canterbury side, who had White Fern’s Amy Satterthwaite and Lea Tahuhu in their side. Canterbury Magician’s player Kate Stiven was also in the side and was named player of the Grand Final.
In the Women’s Under-17 grade, Wellington was dominant, going through the tournament unbeaten. Key to their success were the performances of sisters Jessica Kerr and Amelia Kerr. Amelia was named player of the Grand Final, while Jessica took out Most Valuable Player honours for the entire grade.
Central Districts took out the Men’s Premier grade, while hosts Wellington took top spot in the Under-19 section.
